Oakland Bicyclist, 17, Still Critical After Being Struck

OAKLAND, N.J. — A 17-year-old bicyclist remained in critical condition Sunday at Hackensack University Medical Center after being struck in Oakland on Saturday, authorities said.

"The motorist remained at the scene of the accident [Franklin Avenue] and cooperated with the investigation, which is ongoing," Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal told Daily Voice.

Oakland police were investigating, assisted by the prosecutor's Fatal Accident Investigation Unit, Grewal said.

Also responding was the county sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification, along with Oakland firefighters and First Aid Squad members and AirMed One from HUMC.
